Technical Features

Stability, strength, and reliability are the hallmarks of a timeless and natural material. Stone can guarantee long-term use without compromising your health.

The innovative design

Pietrella's innovative design combines the rapid heating of aluminum with the resistance of stone, which retains heat and gradually releases it into the food. This allows you to cook at lower temperatures, preserving the flavor and quality of the ingredients. With Pietrella, you can easily prepare dishes like a true chef: juicy and flavorful meat and fish, perfectly cooked vegetables, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our pans guarantee even, golden cooking, with the unmistakable aroma and flavor of stone.

The smelting process

The injection pressure varies based on the weight and type of material used. It is essential that this pressure be maintained constant throughout the entire process, until the piece has completely solidified. To facilitate cooling, a liquid is circulated inside the mold. Meanwhile, hydraulic presses ensure the mold is hermetically sealed; once the piece has solidified, the presses open the two half-molds to remove the finished product.

The die casting process is highly automatable and ideal for large-scale production. Thanks to modern technologies and advanced machinery, parts produced using this technique guarantee tight dimensional tolerances and superior surface quality compared to other foundry processes.

Characteristics of the die casting process

Die casting, also known as "pressure shell casting," is a process developed in the United States in the mid-19th century. It involves injecting molten metal or alloy into a metal mold at high pressure. Once the metal solidifies, the mold opens to allow the resulting piece to be removed.

The shape

The mold, usually made of steel, is composed of two halves to allow the casting to be removed once the process is complete. The materials used to make the various parts of the mold must have a higher melting point than the injected metal, which is generally an aluminum, magnesium, or zinc alloy.

Safety on the table

In recent years, it's become increasingly clear how important it is to pay attention to the materials used in our cookware. Common nonstick pans, especially those coated with Teflon, have been the subject of concern over their potential harmful health effects.

Teflon, in fact, may contain PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid), a chemical compound that has been linked to potential health risks. Today, the production of safe cookware is subject to stricter regulations, but it's still important to know what you're buying.

The solution? Pietrella pans. They are completely free of PFOA, nickel, and heavy metals , ensuring healthy and safe cooking. Made of die-cast aluminum and coated with non-stick materials, Pietrella pans do not release toxic substances , even at high temperatures. This makes them perfect for healthy cooking, without the need for oil or fat.

Pietrella, the safe pan.

Non-Stick & Layers

The Whitford Eclipse HB non-stick coating is applied to every Pietrella product in 3 internal layers (35/40 microns) and 2 dotted layers (20 microns), guaranteeing resistance and impeccable cooking.

Our die-cast products with non-stick coating
They are made of die-cast food-grade aluminum, with thicknesses ranging from 4 to 8 mm and walls from 2.5 to 3 mm. This ensures even heat distribution, preserving authentic flavors during cooking.
